Session 2, Day 3 - Party Time

Wednesday - woke up and read my scriptures.  I am reading in Job - thought it would give me some good perspective.  There is a lot of chapters compared to the scripture reader version we read with the kids.  It is very interesting to read the exchanges between Job and his "friends".  If I understand it right, Job's friends are telling him to repent of all this wickedness he has done.  Job is telling them he is not wicked and that bad things happen to both the wicked and the righteous.  The part that is interesting to me is that Job seems to say that he cannot find the Lord.  He is looking forward, backwards, right & left and cannot see Him.  But, Job says he will still be faithful and that when he is resurrected, he will be as gold.  I was very impressed with this.  It reminded me of a quote talking about how faith is taking that step into the darkness - not having the path all lit up for us.  I do not know what the future holds, but I pray that even when I feel alone, I will still choose the right and be faithful as Job!

I try to shower in the morning and eat some breakfast.  Angela will be proud - I had oatmeal.  They have to tape plastic over my port area just as a double precaution against water getting to it.  It is not hurting as bad to have tape rip hairs off of my body - one bright side of chemo.  (This DOES NOT APPLY to my arm hair - that is still stuck fast and hard.)

I did some laps with my chemo friend then hit the computer to do some work.  I am so grateful to be working for a company that has shown me so much support.  I cannot imagine being supported in more ways than I am currently.

Today I was blessed with wonderful visitors.  A friend from our old ward came to visit.  It was great to catch  up on what was happening with our families.  They are an awesome family that have helped us a ton with Jonathan's Celiac disease and just getting through life with children.  Thank you for the wonderful visit!!   My brother was able to come visit.  It was great to see him.  Him and his wife and their little boy have visited us often and helped me with projects around the house.  We are very grateful for them!!  I was able to introduce to my chemo comrade and another patient we have befriended.  He helped me set up our movie night.

Now, just to let you know, me and my comrade in chemo have been revolutionizing how patients spend their time while receiving chemotherapy.  It is not longer the boring stay-in-your-room idea.  We want action and adventure.  However, we recognize the limitations that "Larry" has and how it affects our ability to perform action packed adventures, so we compromised.  We set up a super-hero movie night.  The hospital let us use their conference room so we could project the movie onto a screen.  My comrade brought treats.  We had two other patients there and had a BLAST!!!  Several of the nurses and staff mentioned how cool it was that we were doing this.  I must admit that was the workings of my friend.  He has the missionary mindset of getting to know everyone and making friends of everyone.  I need to be more like that.  He is a great example to me!!!

I talked to Angela after the movie was over. She had a good time at Art Night - THANK YOU ART NIGHT CREW!!!!!  (She sent me an email later on of the painting she whipped out - I like it.)

I did some email checking on the computer then went to bed.  A great day at the Huntsman Hotel.
