This is Angela. Doug said I could post and now I have finally figured out how to do it so... Here are some thoughts.
I hate this cancer. Don't like what its doing to Doug and his life and our family's lives. Didn't plan on this and its definitely messing things up. Having said that, though, I will say there is something I love...
The people around us are amazing.
Absolutely incredible.
Astounding!
We've seen support like this happen and have even participated in it but we have never been on the receiving end like this. I've run over a meal or two in my time and watched kids and helped ties quilts....No big deal. I do my thing and go home and on to the rest of my life. I didn't realize what happens on the other end.
When you add Sister(s) so and so's meal(s) with Brother so and so's pruning and the young men's yard work and Sister(s) so and so's watching of kids or picking up baby at Huntsman or chocolate and treats or help dejunking or fundraising or staying up half the night researching on the internet for us or financial support or flying out to help or..... The cumulative effect is just beyond words. We feel so loved and supported and lifted up. I could not ask for better family, friends, neighbors, ward members, and perfect strangers who have rallied around to help.
So if there is one good thing in all of this, it's watching the gospel in action from this action. This is the first miracle I will mention. I will tell about more specific small miracles tomorrow...
