Yesterday I had a echo cardiogram. Yes, they did find a a heart for any of you that may have been wondering; and NO, they did not say "it was 3 sizes too small". It was even pumping blood for the technician.
Today, I went to U of U Hospital and had a port "installed" as an extra feature - an extravagance really - for the chemotherapy to go more smoothly. Call me a baby, but I am all about reducing the amount of times they have to poke me with a needle. (I will have you know, though, that I was a avid red cross blood donor before all of this.) The surgery went well and I splurged and had a subway sandwich on the way home. Never tasted so good. I have heard that the chemo therapy can change your sense of taste. I think that secretly Angela is hoping this will result in me eating more raw tomatoes.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. I am so thankful for the plan of salvation. I know that regardless of the outcome of the cancer treatment, I am a part of an eternal family. I know that one day I will have a cancer free body and that I will never be separated from my family. -Doug-
I am glad all that went well. I have you in my prayers and thoughts. I am sure I am not the only one who has entered your name in the temple. Please tell Angela to call me next week while you are away. I want to help. I will call her on Monday when you go in.
ReplyDeleteyeah :) first steps to getting better are in the works. this is progress, good progress. one step at a time Dawg ;-)
ReplyDeleteHey it's Chromie! Good to hear they found your heart without using electron microscopes. Hope everything is going well! Know that you've got weird Transformers nerds all across the country praying for you and sending you love! Went ahead and linked the blog to CiD and CiD FB so everyone can keep track of just how awesome you all are, and pray for specific things. I hope Jesus is watching you in love...because then he's too busy to watch me!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Chromia - you are a true friend. Without the transformer power, I would just have a lame recovery. Now I am going to have an "EPIC" recovery. Thanks again - Doug -
